So if you have a $100 microphone (such as the Shure SM57, which you will see in almost all pro studios), an audio interface and recording software such as Cubase, Digital Performer, Logic, Pro Tools, Sonar or similar, then you have everything you need to get started.
The second problem is knowing how to get the best out of your recording environment. We understand that not everyone can have pro studio surroundings. You don't need pro studio surroundings to get good results, but you may have to use a little initiative!
