Brand : YAMAHA
Model : SG500
Created : in Japan (1977)
Body type : Mohagany with maple cap
Fretboard : Rosewood
Pick up :
Original high gain Yamaha humbuckers.
(Mega sustain due to a very deep body and a well seated neck)
Weight : 6kg
The split-wing fretboard inlays, headstock binding and headstock inlays are extremely unusual for a 500 - the ones made for export to the USA, in particular, had dot inlays and had no headstock inlay or binding. The truss rod cover says "SG500" (not the later "SBG500" after Gibson protested about the use of their trademark "SG" model name around 1980). Some later SG500's and SBG500's came with no binding (or narrower binding) on the body.
All in all, a beautiful example of the Made-In-Japan golden-era of guitars
Carlos Santana & Bob mArley is most of the International artiste who used this SG.
